Reduction in LLC Filing Fees

On November 8, 2017, lawmakers voted unanimously to pass Senate Bill 867, a bill designed to lower LLC start up fees across the state of Illinois. Illinois currently has the highest LLC start up costs in the nation at $500 to file Articles of Organization and $750 to file a Series LLC. The new legislation, spearheaded by the Small Business Advocacy Council, will be a welcome relief to small business owners and entrepreneurs once signed into law by the Governor.
